ELK HUNTS & Hunting Elk in Colorado

Elk hunting is exceptional at Blue Mountain Bison. Located east of the Rocky Mountain National Park where hunting is prohibited, our ranch is a prime location for excess elk to forage. Our ranch is winter range for groups of “bachelor bulls”. Nearly every hunter will be in shooting range of mature bulls the first day of the hunt and it is rare that hunters go home with anything less than a 6 x 6.

The number of licenses in our area are restricted by the State of Colorado, but as a ranch owner we do get a few permits each year, that allow our hunters to buy licenses at any time before you begin hunting. There are several different rifle seasons during the months of October through January. Call or email for availability and season list.

ELK HUNTING FEES:

$7500 per Bull elk permit.

$2000 per Cow permit.

The fee includes a guide, transportation around the ranch, permit and accommodations on the ranch.

A 10% discount for two hunters in a party or if combined with deer or trophy bison hunt. Refund of  40% if we don’t put you within 300 yards of a 5x5 or better elk. Good only on bull elk hunts. No refund for cow hunts.

The ranch is home to a large year round herd of Mulies. This is perfect country for trophy quality bucks and hunters have enjoyed taking home these monsters from our ranch for years. We limit mule deer hunts to six a year, with a four point per side minimum size to allow younger bucks to mature to trophy size.
